Meet our Team

Dr. Schnarr, a 1970 Purdue Graduate, has been the owner of Irvington Pet Clinic since 1985. Dr. Schnarr worked his way through Veterinary School as a medical photographer in the Department of Medical Illustration. This avocation has extended into his practice where many procedures and clinical cases are photo documented in the patients history. Scuba diving and underwater photography are major hobbies for Dr. Schnarr and his photos of underwater scenes and fish adorn the clinic walls. This hobby has also earned him the title of being the unofficial photographer of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Schnarr is active in professional veterinary activities and has held the following positions; past president of the local Indianapolis Veterinary Association, CIVMA, and a past president of the State Veterinary Medical Association. He was also co-chairman of the State Veterinary convention program for 17 years, and is currently the chair of the State VMA Health and Wellness Committee, and serves on the state convention planning committee. Dr. Schnarr is also a past-president of the Purdue Veterinary Alumni Association, and served on the admissions committee for the School of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue for four years. He currently represents the State of Indiana VMA at the national level as a Delegate to the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Beth is one of our Registered Veterinary Technician.  Beth completed the Veterinary Technician program with the Vet Tech Institute at International Business College and completed her externship at IVEC in Indianapolis.  She passed her State Board Exam in January of 2009.  Beth shares her home with her Terriers; Belle, Ray and Nancy; and Thomas the cat.

Carly is our newest Registered Veterinary Technician.  Carly graduated from Purdue University with her bachelors degree in Veterinary Technology.  Carly completed her practicum at Broad Ripple Animal Clinic and passed her State Board Exam in January of 2009.  Carly recently relocated to Historic Irvington and shares her home with her dog Chloe.

Caryn has worked for Irvington Pet Clinic since 1989.  She began as a receptionist and is now the Practice Manager.  Caryn has a strong knowledge base in animal behavior and still enjoys learning new information.  She shares her home with her three dogs Emily, Wizard and Slugo; and cat, Sporticus.

Leslie has been employed since 1994. She is our morning receptionist, but may also be seen helping out in the back. Leslie is very patient and will help you understand the best preventative care for your pets. She shares her home with her dogs Bosco and Radio; and her two cats Harlie and Simba.

Tricia is our full time Veterinary Assistant.  She joined Irvington Pet Clinic in February of 2007 and came to us with previous assisting experience.  Tricia is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Animal Agribusiness.  She shares her home with multiple pets.

Jessie is one of our receptionists.  She joined our staff in November 2009, she has previously worked as a veterinary assistant.  Jessie is now our primary afternoon receptionist and can be found helping out wherever needed in the mornings.  Jessie shares her home with her two cats; KeeKee and KeeLee and her dog; Maya.

Gina, Seth, and Amy make up a very important part of our clinic's staff.  They are our wonderful kennel attendants.  They come in daily and perform a variety of cleaning tasks around the clinic and, more importantly, take excellent care of our kenneled animals.  Every one of our kennel attendants is compassionate to the animals and thorough in their cleaning duties.  They are the reason that our clinic remains presentable.  Although they work "behind" the scenes, their dedication to our clinic is irreplaceable.

Clinic Mascots, Lil Dude and Frankie are our resident cats.  The boys came to us in the Fall of 2009, we fell in love and had to keep them both.  When in the clinic you're sure to notice them as they are very social and curious.  Please excuse the tape on some of the food bags but our boys have a bad habit of chewing holes in the them!

Dude is our old clinic cat.  Dude came to us 20 years ago as a stray kitten.  Dude spends most of his time in the back of the Clinic eatting and sleeping.

Gibbs is doctor Schnarr's new yorki puppy.  You can find him in the front office most days.
